Dubuque Chorale

Artistic Director

The Dubuque Chorale is seeking a new director. Robert Demaree, Artistic Director since 2009, announced that he will be stepping down at the end of the 2017-18 season. A search committee has been formed to seek prospective candidates. The new director will be recommended by the Search Committee and approved by the Board of Directors.

The position of Director of The Dubuque Chorale includes an annual stipend. The Chorale employs an accompanist who is also paid a stipend. Rehearsals are Thursday evenings from 6 to 7 pm for Cadenza and from 7 to 9 pm for the Chorale. The Chorale season typically runs from Fall through Spring with four or five concerts.

Those applicants selected for an interview will meet with the search committee, and finalists will have the opportunity to work with the Chorale during a rehearsal this summer. Each finalist will rehearse one required piece and one piece of his or her own choosing.

Application process

Applicants should send a cover letter and resume to the search committee at searchcommittee@dubuquechorale.org. Applications will be accepted through June 1, 2018.
