Queen of the Rosary Chapel, Sinsinawa Mound
585 County Road Z, Sinsinawa, WI
The Dubuque Chorale opens its 40th Anniversary season with a performance of George Frideric Handel's "Messiah," and will be joined by choirs from Sinsinawa Mound and the University of Dubuque, accompanied by an orchestra drawn from the local region.
Handel composed the oratorio in 1741 and first performed it in Dublin the following year. Although the initial reception was modest, the work has since become one of the best-known and frequently performed choral works in Western music. The "Christmas" movements are perhaps the best known, however this performance will feature almost the entire work.
Please join the Dubuque Chorale, the Sinsinawa Civic Chorus, and the University of Dubuque Chorus for an evening or afternoon of exciting music!
The Queen of the Rosary Chapel is the focal point of the Sinsinawa Mound Center complex. Directions are available here.
