Dubuque Chorale Cadenza, in collaboration with Dr. Charles Barland, celebrates J.S. Bach’s music and faith journey with a presentation of the composer’s music and the theology that inspired it.
The concert showcases Bach’s genius with a mix of chorale works sung by Cadenza, organ pieces performed by Dr. Barland, and a discussion of the theology that shaped Bach’s world view and informed his compositions. The centerpiece of the concert is Cantata 150, Nach dir, Herr, verlanget mich (“For Thee, O Lord, I long”), one of the composer’s early works.
The concert is free to the public. A freewill offering will be taken.
St. Luke’s is at the corner of Main and 12th Streets. Parking is available on the street and in the lot across the street. An accessible entrance is from the alley.
